The Outer Worlds 2: How to deactivate traps inside Heretical Miscellany

Heretical Miscellany is the area in The Outer Worlds 2 located inside Cloister, which you can visit during one of Marisol's personal quests. Here is how to get rid of traps inside it.

As straightforward as the quests can be in The Outer Worlds 2, the latest action RPG shooter from Obsidian Entertainment, some of them will feature certain objectives that won't be as simple as the rest.

One such area, located inside Cloister, is called Heretical Miscellany, and this particular area, like no other in the game, will feature an abundance of traps which you'll have to disable on your own, with no help from the game in the form of quest markers and such.

If you don't know where to go and what to do to disable the traps in question and progress through the quest, we have a guide that will answer all your questions regarding this topic and that will point you in the right direction to solve them on your own.

How to get past the traps in Heretical Miscellany

As soon as you gain access to the building, you'll find Anais standing in front of the energy barrier with no means of going further. Speak to her, and she will tell you about the vent which is located right behind her.

Go through this vent, and it will lead you to the other side of the barrier. Now, you'll have to find a way to deactivate it to let Marisol and Anais go through as well. Look at the other side of the room, and here, you'll see the open balcony leading outside. Go through it and jump down to some sort of a catwalk leading further away.

Just as you jump down, turn around, crouch beneath the small balcony you just jumped from, and go to the right to enter lower levels. Be careful because the floor in the next room is electrified, but if you manage to jump from aisle to aisle, you should be safe. Make sure to save before you start jumping to load safely if you miss the jump and die.

Once you pass the electrical floor, you'll find a terminal. Access it and you'll find the command to deactivate traps. And that's it; you can return safely to your companions that wait for you upstairs. You'll soon meet more traps, but the solutions for those are luckily more straightforward.
