The Outer Worlds 2, the newest RPG shooter from Obsidian Entertainment, doesn't have a shortage of weapons, that's for sure, but some weapons definitely stand out due to their quality and unique properties.
One such weapon is The Oracle, an assault rifle you can stumble upon inside Alexandra Monastery. You can assume that this weapon is a special one once you see the case it lies in: in the middle of the room hidden behind the locked glass, just waiting for you to pick it up.
However, this is easier said than done, because you'll either need to have an ex-convict background, or have level 12 lockpick skill, or you'll have to find Abbot's Universal Key; and truth be told, none of those tasks is an easy one.
How to open a weapon case with the Oracle rifle in Alexandra Monastery
This weapon case is almost impossible to miss. It is located in the middle of the room, just after the encounter in the orrery. As we said before, to unlock this case, you'll have to have a certain background – the ex-convict, to be precise – and since this background is quite bad, there's a very low possibility that you'll pick it up at the beginning of the game. If you did, then this guide isn't for you.
The other method is the ability of lockpicking to be on level 12 and above. For this stage of the game, it is quite unlikely that anyone will prioritise this ability and force its upgrades, but you never know. If your lockpick skill is as high as level 12, you can unlock this case right away.
The third option, which is the easiest one, is to obtain Abbot's Universal Key. If you want to use this method, stop looking for it right now. Keep playing the game chasing the seer, and you'll eventually confront him inside a huge arena.
Whether you'll fight him or not is entirely up to you and your previous preparation for the mission, but after you deal with him, return the same way you entered the arena, and you'll be back to the room with the Oracle rifle. Keep going further, and the Abbot will confront you inside the area with the bells – the room just after the Oracle weapon.
Speak with him, and after your conversation, he will give you the key, provided you didn't piss him off, so if you want this weapon, make sure you stay on his good side. After obtaining the key, return to the case and take the weapon. This assault rifle is a prototype and has one very neat function. When you aim at the enemy, it will lock on him, and no matter where you aim, the bullets will always find their target.
