Lockpicking is one of the activities in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, the latest RPG from Bethesda Softworks, that requires a great deal of concentration, luck, and skills, and a lot of lockpicks that can break upon making the slightest mistake.
To become better at picking locks, apart from obtaining better lockpicking gear, you'll have to hone your lockpicking skills as well, and in this guide, we will show you how to do all this and become a real lockpicking master ready to unlock any door without even breaking a sweat.
How to be able to pick any lock in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
There are a couple of requirements you'll need to meet before you can obtain the unbreakable lockpick, and one of those requirements is to reach level 10, but even if you're at low levels, we will show you how to reach level 10 quite fast.
The first thing you need to do is to level up your lockpicking skills to the max level, and that is 100. To do that, find any locked door or chest with a lower level of difficulty and start spamming the unlocking button (A on Xbox Controller). Just keep pressing it, and the lockpicking level will rise as long as you do. Do it until you reach 100; this will probably level you to level 10 as well.
Once you reach level 10, sleep to set your upgrades, and you're ready for the next step. Now, travel to the Nocturnal Shrine. If you don't know where to find it, follow the road south of Leyawiin. Check out the map above for reference.
Once you're there, pray at the shrine, and you'll pick up the Nocturnal quest in the process. If you follow the quest, you're going to have to do some eavesdropping to reveal the location of the Eye of Nocturnal, which the quest giver tasked you with finding.
If you want to do this, be our guest, but to skip this part, all you need to do is go and find Tidewater Cave. This cave is located south of Leyawiin, near the shore, just next to the Oblivion Gate. Again, check out the map above to see the location.
Once inside the cave, clear out the enemies and dive through the pocket of water located to the right; Eye of Nocturnal is underwater there. Pick it up and return it to Mor gra-Gamorn, and as a reward, you'll get the Skeleton Key, the lockpick that cannot be broken, and combined with the highest level of lockpicking possible, you'll be able to spam every lock and unlock it without a single problem.
