The first time Planet of Lana II puts you in the shoes of a presumably younger Mui, as it is a flashback to his past, you will wake up in a room where Mui's owner left a baby in its cradle. After the woman leaves, the baby will start crying, and your task as a faithful pet will be to put the baby to sleep.
In order to do that, you'll jump down with Mui and to the right, you'll see a button that you can press, which will then reveal the order of buttons you'll need to press in order to play a little lullaby to the baby. After revealing that, make your way to the left and jump up on the small circular opening next to the baby's head. That is where you'll follow the cues to play the lullaby.
After the buttons appear, all you have to do is follow them and play a little sequence which will put the baby to sleep soon and you'll be able to progress the story.
