NetherRealm Studios have already confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will feature reimagined classic fighters but also brand new characters that will make their debut in this brutal fighting series.
Mortal Kombat 1 has been officially announced by Warner Bros. and developer NetherRealm , who also shared a bunch of additional details about the game and its roster of fighters. So far, we only know of nine characters that will be in the game as you'll see in the list below.
All of the confirmed characters are iconic Mortal Kombat fighters that we knew would be in the game in the first place but it's always good to have that official confirmation.
So, without further ado, let's check out the list of confirmed Mortal Kombat 1 characters so far.
Here is the list of confirmed Mortal Kombat 1 characters so far:
- Liu Kang
- Kung Lao
- Shang Tsung
- Johnny Cage
- Jean-Claude Van Damme (Johnny Cage skin)
Obviously, this is not the full list as that would make Mortal Kombat 1 a pretty barebones fighting game. NetherRealm will reveal new characters as we get closer to the actual launch when the devs will probably share the full roster including Kameo Fighters.
Speaking about Kameo Fighters, NetherRealm explained that these will be a unique roster of partner characters to assist during matches and will be chosen separately from the main roster of fighters.
Mortal Kombat 1 will also add new fighters in post-launch updates, just like its predecessors. The devs already announced Kombat Pack 1 which will add six new playable characters and five Kameo fighters after the game's launch.
