Warner Bros. have today officially announced Mortal Kombat 1, the next major Mortal Kombat game, which is coming September 19, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
After many rumours and leaks, the publisher Warner Bros. and developer NetherRealm Studios have today announced the next instalment in the popular fighting series Mortal Kombat. Officially titled Mortal Kombat 1 , the game will serve as a soft reboot for the franchise.
The release date for Mortal Kombat 1 is set for September 19, 2023, adding to an already packed month which also brings us Bethesda's sci-fi RPG Starfield and PlayStation 5 exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man 2 .
Mortal Kombat 1 will be launching on all major platforms including PC , PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch . Interstingly, there is no last-gen version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One even though the game is launching on Nintendo Switch too.

As for the list of fighters and maps and other juicy details, we'll have to wait a little longer. Though, the official trailer did give us a glimpse at some of the fighters that will be in the game like the legendary Scorpion and Sub Zero to name a few.
All in all, we cannot wait to see more of Mortal Kombat 1 in the coming months and of course, get to play it later this year. Mortal Kombat is certainly one of the greatest fighting video games ever so it's safe to say that the community is absolutely ecstatic to be getting another installment after a long wait.
