Fae Farm is Phoenix Lab's very calming farming simulator that starts off with the player tidying up their "garden" and getting started with the game, but they have no tools or guidance as to where to go. Here is what they should do:
Firstly, make your way towards Merritt and exhaust the conversation to the point where you have been given 3 options, this is where you are supposed to accept the quest.
Once the quest has been accepted, make your way down the stairs and into the area near your house. There you will need to collect the items Merritt told you to collect.
To do so, the items have to be "harvested" by right-clicking them or pressing square on a controller. The tools needed should be given to you by Merritt and if they are not on you, make your way back to her and make sure the conversation has been exhausted and the quest has been accepted.
The quest requires you to collect 10 plant fibres, 10 stone, 5 beech logs (not to be confused with the oak logs) and 5 arugulas. All of these items can be found in the area that you had walked into, the only difficult thing is the fact that plant fibres look like flower bushes instead of leaves and arugula looks very similar to seaweed or wheat.
Once the items have been collected, you should make your way back to Merritt and redeem your quest. The reward for completing this quest is a blueprint for a chair that can be built to decorate your house. The chair is also a link to the next quest called "Cottage Construction".
