Once you've had your chat with Merritt, it's time to head over to the garden area you had just tidied up. To kickstart the next phase of your Fae Farm life, simply press 'C' on your keyboard or down on your controller's keypad to enter build mode. Repeat this action to open up the catalogue, where you'll find a lot of different farm essentials.
Your mission in this stage: locate the cooking fire within the catalogue. Once you've spotted it, select it and place it wherever your heart desires within your garden. With your cooking fire in place, it's time to work some culinary magic.
Approach the fire and, whether you're using a mouse and right-clicking or a controller and pressing Square, access the menu of delectable items that can be cooked. You'll notice that only the Alegora is highlighted – that's because it is the only meal you can currently prepare.
Press right-click or press Square to place the Alegora onto the cooker, and then wait patiently as it transforms into a dish that your character can consume. When the time is right, collect your freshly cooked meal by pressing the same button.
Voila! You've now got a hearty meal to keep your energy levels up as you toil away on the farm. With your newfound culinary prowess, return to Merritt. She has your next task in store, named From Humble Beginnings, as you continue your journey on Fae Farm.
