There are several dragons you'll be able to fight in Shadow of the Erdtree, the latest Elden Ring's expansion. The boys and girls from From Software made sure that each of these encounters holds a severe challenge.
However, every single dragon in the DLC is optional, and you'll fight them only if you want to, but these epic moments are not something you should miss, trust us.
One of the hardest dragon bosses, if not the hardest one, is Bayle the Dread, the dragon that awaits you at the end of the Jugged Peak area. This boss has a side quest attached to it too, so here are some tips on how to make this fight bearable and what to do to get yourself properly prepared.
How to beat Bayle the Dread
On your way to reach Bayle the Dread, you must first reach the Dragon's Pit Terminus Site of Grace. On your way to this Site of Grace, you'll come across the NPC called Igon (you cannot miss him due to his screams). Speak to him, exhaust his dialogue, and he will then wait for you further on the path towards the boss.
Once you reach the first smaller dragon and defeat him, you'll come to a fork in the road. Take the path on the right and follow it all the way to the end, and you'll reach the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion Site of Grace. Talk to the Dragon Communion Priestess there, exhaust her dialogue, and you'll get an item called Ancient Dragon's Blessing. This consumable is highly useful when fighting Bayle, so do not miss it.
Once you're in front of the arena, buff yourself up, preferring fire damage negation talismans and items, and immediately run slightly to the left to summon Igon. He is extremely useful when fighting Bayle because he shoots harpoons and can be a great distraction.
The best weapon to use against Bayle is the fully upgraded Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear because Bayle is weak to bleed damage and is extremely slow. Wait for him to turn his attention to Igon, approach him from his blind spot, and start using the Bloodboon Ritual attack. Once your FP is depleted, refill it and repeat the process.
All his attacks are quite easy to dodge, but even if you're hit, do not despair. If you have fire damage talismans equipped, you should be okay. Heal, create the distance, let him attack Igon, and than spam Bloodboon Ritual while he is distracted. Do it three times, and Bayle the Dread will be defeated.
DON'T MISS!
