For Call of Duty: Warzone players, Field of View is very important. It allows you to see everything that is around you, but having the wrong settings might make your games difficult.

Field of View, or FOV, is a setting available in most competitive FPS games. This allows you to adjust how much of your surroundings you can see. There is a difference between  PC  and  PlayStation  or  Xbox  players. If you’re on PC, you can adjust your FOV by going into  Warzone’s  settings and using the following options:

  • Launch Call of Duty: Warzone
  • Open up settings
  • Select the ‘General’ tab
  • Look under the ‘Screen’ section for FOV settings
  • Click on ‘Advanced’ for more options

Unfortunately, only PC Warzone players have received a FOV slider, and console players are locked to 80.

For a controller player, anywhere between 95 and 105 is an ideal FOV. You’ll get all the spatial awareness of a high FOV, but your targets won’t be so shrunk that they’re difficult to see and hit. As many controller players will have trouble making the micro-adjustments that a mouse offers, you don’t want your FOV to be too high.

If you’re playing Warzone on a PC with a controller, you need to have a FOV that complements your gameplay. Once you have the best settings, you need to find the FOV that’s right for you.

Warzone defaults to 80 FOV, and this is also what console players are locked to. However, PC players get the option of raising their FOV to 120, and a high FOV has its pros and cons.

A high FOV minimizes long-range targets to fit more onto your screen, making them tough to strike – especially when Aim Assist is used. If you set it too low, your screen will be cut off. You won't be able to see foes out to the side, and you may have motion issues.

Controller gamers who are using a wide field of view should enable the Scale Aim Assist with the FOV option. This scales the aim assist bubbles with your FOV, ensuring that your aim seems consistent regardless of your field of view.
