One of the major issues players will run into during their time in the Underdark are the Arcane Cannons. Here is a fairly easy way to get rid of them.

Baldur's Gate 3 will throw endless curveballs at the players, including the seemingly indestructible Arcane Cannons, placed in front and inside the Arcane Tower in the Underdark.

Trying to kill them with damage rolls of 10 and more will prove futile as they become instantly resurrected for reasons unknown.

On the other hand, you can just walk up to them and they will be disabled automatically if you have Sussur flowers in your inventory.

Sussur Flower location

You can loot four Sussur Blossoms from the Sussur Tree, although it is debatable if you will actually need them. Still, if you find yourself in the vicinity, it is worth looting at least two of them them.

You can walk up to to the Arcane Cannons with these in your inventory and they will shut down. Use turn-based mode to avoid getting shot in the face while moving up to them.

Disabling Arcane Cannons permanently

To disable the cannons permanently, you will need to enable the tower's generator. If you have Sussur Flowers, use them to disable the first two cannons like in the image below.

Instead of going into the tower, turn towards the giant mushrooms behind the second cannon. Use your character with the highest jump distance and start jumping down the 'shrooms.

At the end of the mushroom path, you will find a garden with two Sussur Blooms. If you don't have any in your inventory, loot one.

After that, turn around and enter the tower's ground level, the door should be open. You will find a massive power generator there.

Interact with the generator and you will get the Combine interface to pop up.

Insert the Sussur Flower into the generator and it will power up, immediately disabling the cannons both inside and outside the tower. Additionally, this will power up the elevator that didn't work previously. With it, you can explore the tower, which you should, before going to the top floor.

Finding a certain poem will allow you to avoid a fight at the top floor, which will then give you a flashy new ring and access to the secret basement floor, where you can find the perfect staff if you are using Bless for your party.
