PUBG's snowy map Vikendi is now live on the game's main client two weeks after the announcement and launch on test servers. Along with the new map, PUBG also got a new weapon and vehicle as well as performance optimisation and bug fixes.
PUBG Players are set for a proper Christmas mood as the new snowy map dubbed Vikendi hit Steam in the latest update. Vikendi is a 6x6 mid-sized map and it takes the spot between smaller Sanhok and the first PUBG map Erangel which is sized 8x8.
Vikendi is created as a sweet spot for both hardcore players who prefer action and those who play patiently and would rather rely on surviving as long as they can before taking a stray sniper bullet to the forehead.
The map includes a lot of interesting locations such as a dinosaur park, castle and one massive area named Cosmodrome which will supposedly feature the best loot, so you can expect some pretty hectic gunfights over there.
While hunting for the chicken dinner on Slovenia's frozen wasteland, players will leave tracks in the snow which can, of course, work for and against you. The developers explained that the tracks won't stay on the map forever and will be visible only if someone is in close proximity.
Along with the new map, PUBG players will also get a new Vikendi exclusive weapon. It's a German assault rifle - the G36C, which uses 5.56mm ammo.
For easier travel around the snowy map, there is now a Snowmobile which is obviously another addition created exclusively for Vikendi's harsh winter. The vehicle seats 2 players and performs best on snow and ice of course.
For those who like to record their gameplay and create highlight videos, PUBG is adding a Reply editor feature. This system will allow the players to create dynamic video clips from many camera angles and with various special effects. A Great way to unleash your inner Michael Bay we would say.
Additionally, changes have been made to the user interface to make it more wintery and within the mood of the new map. Bluehole also fixed a lot of bugs and improved the overall performance of the game.
A huge list of additions, improvements and bug fixes can be found on PUBG's Steam page.
