Valve seem open to Half-Life: Alyx port on PSVR2

Valve have officially confirmed that Half-Life: Alyx won't be coming to PlayStation VR and will be available on SteamVR only. However, the company seem open to PlayStation 5 port in the future.

We've known about Valve's plans for Half-Life: Alyx as a VR title but now we've got it in proverbial writing as the company rolled out a trailer, teasing bits and pieces of the narrative and showing some quite delicious VR visuals.

One could assume Valve are channelling Blizzard as they announced the next instalment from a franchise that is immensely popular on PC will continue the career on a different platform. Half-Life: Alyx will be a VR title, to be announced on 21 November 2019.

It may not be Half-Life 3 but it's the next best thing, right? Well, that's if the rumours are indeed true, as word came out that Valve is preparing to announce Half-Life: Alyx at this year's The Game Awards on Thursday, 12 December 2019.

PlayStation 4's VR title Blood & Truth has apparently become the first VR game to hit number one in UK's physical sales chart, while the last week's winner Sonic Team Racing took a tumble to third place after a 46 per cent dip in sales.

Beat Saber gets released with a level editor

Beat Games have announced that Beat Saber will be leaving Steam Early Access at some point during the week starting on 20 May 2019. The official launch will come with the long-awaited Level Editor and a 50 per cent increase in price.

Valve officially reveal Index VR Headset

Valve officially revealed their VR Index kit which consists of a headset, two controllers and base station for a price of $1000. Valve's VR kit runs at 120Hz with an experimental 144Hz mode with dual 1440 x 1600 LCD displays for each eye.

Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey go VR

Nintendo of America have announced that they will be adding VR features to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey through their Labo VR kit for the Nintendo Switch which is set to release during April 2019.

Valve want to launch Index VR headset in June

Even though GabeN and Co were planning to keep us in the dark a bit longer regarding the Index, their plan went awry. A premature Steam listing has been caught by a few eagle-eyed users and although Valve took down the pages, it's too late.

Valve teasing VR headset launch for May 2019

It seems it's finally time for Valve to deliver the long rumoured VR headset, although the company aren't exactly spoiling us with details. As usual, if we may add. We do know that it's called Valve Index and that it's coming in May 2019.

Marvel's Iron Man VR announced for PSVR

Seattle-based studio Camouflaj are working on Marvel's Iron Man VR for PlayStation VR. The new Iron Man game was revealed on Sony's State of Play live stream in a teaser trailer that revealed some gameplay and the use of Iron Man's powers.

In case you've been concerned over the recent layoffs in Valve, which mostly affected the company's VR department, you can stop now as Gabe Newell himself confirmed that none of these games, or Knuckles for that matter, are affected.

Oculus have announced that Beat Saber will be one of the launch titles for the on-the-go VR gaming system Oculus Quest, which should provide additional movement flexibility to the players due to not being restricted to a single room.

Beat Saber DLC songs are coming soon

Beat Games have announced that Beat Saber will get the first Music Pack DLC on 14 March 2019 while the previously PS4 exclusive Campaign and five tracks from OST Vol. 2 will finally arrive to PC as well, marking the first update in a while.

It seems as we're in a perfect place to confirm Mark Twain's popular classification of lies, as Steam have indeed managed to double their VR userbase in 2018. That being said, it's still not enough to make up for 1 per cent of its total.

RE 7 - biohazard DLC packs out in December

The Not a Hero and End of Zoe DLC packs for Resident Evil 7 Biohazard will be available in December 2017. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Gold Editions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will launch alongside the two packs for good measure.
