WWE 2K Battlegrounds has received a trailer that focuses on in-game modes, and you'll be hearing about them from none other than Paul Heyman, who is featured in-game as well.
2K Games and Saber Interactive made sure WWE 2K Battlegrounds isn't lacking in multiplayer appeal, although there's still plenty to do for singleplayer fans.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds offers the following modes:
- Campaign
- Exhibition
- One on One
- Tag Team
- Triple Threat
- Fatal Fourway
- Steel Cage
- Royal Rumble
- King of The Battleground
- Online Tournament and Battleground Challenge!
The campaign has Heyman pitching a new franchise idea to Vince McMahon, which is basically the beginning of your journey through WWE 2K Battlegrounds.
You'll be joining him and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin as you travel the globe and look for new members of your fledgeling WWE brand. Along the way, you'll be upgrading your character and unlocking a bunch of cosmetics.
Exhibition modes are pretty self-explanatory, and they're aimed at up to 4 players online or on the couch.
King of the Battleground is WWE 2K Battlegrounds' gauntlet style showdown, where eight players fight to stay in the arena for as long as possible. Doing so means their score keeps going up, but a steady stream of opponents should make sure you don't get too relaxed.
2K Games and Saber are clearly planning on different online tournaments as the Online Tournament Mode description reads, "Brawl online for rewards in a variety of time-limited tournaments featuring a wide range of win conditions! Keep an eye out… you never know when a new Battlegrounds tournament might be kicking off!"
