Wasteland games have a colourful palette of nutjobs and the last expansion of Wasteland 3 will introduce the ones that worship nukes.

Fallout games found a lot of success with factions that are basically crazy people who worship nuclear bombs. Children of the Atoms made several appearances in Fallout 4 but it was really the ones in Fallout 3 that made the concept so attractive due to the extent of interaction we had with them. After all, you don't get to decide whether to defuse or blow up a dormant nuke every day.

Similarly, Wasteland games have their own nuke-worshipping crazies and while they played a major role in Wasteland 2, they didn't appear in Wasteland 3 thus far. This stands to change with Cult of the Holy Detonation expansion, which is set to release on October 5, 2021, meaning there are less than two weeks before we get to mess around with them.

The expansion will be the last one for Wasteland 3, the RPG game that did well for itself but was often overlooked because everyone anticipated the one from CDPR at that time.

Anyway, the expansion is aiming to put a twist in the tactical combat we've familiarised ourselves with by now as it will offer objectives at every corner, be it shutting down reactors, clearing ventilation systems or engaging defensive countermeasures to help you with dispatching all the mutants running at the Rangers.

Cult of the Holy Detonation will be available for $6.99 or as part of the Wasteland 3 Colorado Collection that offers the base game, Colorado Survival Gear, The Battle of Steeltown and the upcoming expansion.
