With its release just a stone's throw away, Saber Interactive's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is looking to be among the action title hopes of the year.
With just 11 days remaining until it launches for standard buyers and even sooner for owners of the Gold and Ultra Editions, the developer has given a comprehensive update on what to expect from the game-especially with performance and graphics.
Space Marine 2, targeting console gamers, will have two modes: Quality Mode and Performance Mode. Quality Mode lets players enjoy the game in 4K resolution at 30 FPS-a frame rate that will look great on both consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
In the case of players who would want smoother gameplay, Performance Mode lets gamers go as high as 60 FPS on both consoles, though with a much finer resolution at 1080p. Worth noticing, though, is that the Xbox Series S will not receive the 60 FPS option, albeit it having gameplay support at 1440p/30 FPS.
PC players have some upgrades to look forward to, too. At launch, the game will support both Nvidia DLSS 2 and AMD FSR2, which are two different technologies that enhance performance and image quality.
It will also add Nvidia DLSS 3 support and AMD FSR3 along with wide-screen support by the end of September. The game will not feature ray tracing nor HDR support at launch, though.
Steam Deck owners are a bit out of luck, as its support will come at the end of 2024. It is slated for release on September 9th, and if it follows in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, it will provide fans with a lot of performance options to suit the way they like to game.
