Much like in previous years, Warframe developers Digital Extremes have decided to take part in the charity event Quest to Conquer Cancer. With the full support of their players, goals are already being reached.
Throughout almost a decade of development, Digital Extremes have cultivated a player base unlike any other for their magnum opus Warframe . We're talking about a community that values friendliness, helpfulness, and fashion seemingly above all else.
With this in mind, it is of no surprise that these players are more than happy to pay good money for skins, syandanas (capes), and bits of cosmetic armour in order for their fashion frame to always be on point. Starting on October 3rd, the Quest to Conquer Cancer event brings another dimension to this dynamic for the third year in a row.
Should you not be familiar with QTCC, it's an event that has multiple Fundraisers and Teams trying to raise as much money as they can during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October.
These funds are then donated to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, located in Toronto Ontario. With it being one of the 5 leading cancer research centres worldwide, supporters and donators can rest easy, knowing that this community effort will be put to good use.
In the past, Digital Extremes has provided its players with intermediate goals to reach, before the final goal of $75.000 in 2020 and a whopping $100.000 in the following two years (and this is not counting the extra that DE puts on top). Both years these goals have been surpassed thanks to the generosity of the community and no doubt the rewards the players had been promised for their participation.
One of the most beloved Ephemeras (Energy-based additions to round off your fashion frame), multiple Profile Glyphs, and concept art for the then still upcoming quest The New War had people gladly buying merch or even just altruistically donating to the cause, in a combined effort to help combat the plague that is cancer.
After less than 3 days of the event being put into motion, the Warframe community has reached over 25% of its goal with most of the month still ahead of us.
We're excited to see the space ninjas go above and beyond yet again.
