Fatshark have announced Warhammer: Vermintide 2 expansion called Winds of Magic which will bring a pile of new content. Most notably, there will be a new faction, called Beastmen who will challenge players along with Skaven and Rotblood.
Beastmen will apparently be in an alliance with Skaven and Rotblood tribe as they will seek challenge players in new, yet undisclosed ways. These creatures are twisted mutant humanoids with both animal and human features. The above-depicted bipedal bovines are just one variation of the Beastmen, called Bovigors, which is itself a subspecies of Gors.
Bovigors are not the same as minotaurs, with the main difference between them being Bovigors' smaller stature. Other include Caprigors and Ungors with the former featuring goat-like appearance and the latter having the widest appearance variety of all Gors.
While Beastmen are a fascinating species themselves, they are not the only content Fatshark will add to Vermintide 2 Winds of Magic. There will be five new weapons and a new game mode to boot. It will be the eponymous Winds of Magic, which will be made of something that Fatshark call "weaves".
Winds of Magic essentially sounds a lot like a horde mode with special modifiers as players progress through increasingly difficult challenges. Beating enough of them will present the players with an opportunity to fight a powerful boss.
These mechanics sound a lot like The Crucible from the Darksiders series but it remains to be seen how the rewards will be earned - whether they will be more along the line of "all or nothing" like in Darksiders or if they will simply be distributed based on the players' progress.
Fatshark also announced new higher difficulty, higher level cap and a new adventure level. Still, it looks like there will be no new campaign missions as Winds of Magic will be the primary focus of this expansion. You can check out more details about the Winds of Magic mode in 's extensive coverage.
