Focus Home have officially revealed the Switch release date for Dontnod's action RPG Vampyr. The game is set to make its debut on Nintendo's hybrid console on 29 October 2019, following on from its release on PC and consoles last summer.
Released back in June 2018, Dontnod Entertainment's action RPG Vampyr has received mixed reviews from both gaming critics and players. While the game had a lot of positives such as the gritty atmosphere and character development, it was held back some technical issues, weak narrative and dull and repetitive combat sequences.
However, despite mixed reviews, by April 2019, Vampyr had sold one million copies, which was considered as a success for the publisher Focus Home Interactive. Shortly after that, Focus Home announced that the game will be coming to Nintendo's hybrid console Switch sometime in 2019.
Today, the publisher have officially revealed the release date for the Switch version of Vampyr. It's coming on 29 October 2019, just in time for Halloween so if you're looking for something dark and gritty to play on the Halloween night, look no further.
If you're unfamiliar with Vampyr, the game follows the affairs of acclaimed medical practitioner Dr Jonathon Reid, who is fighting to overcome the bloodlust following the events of World War I. While trying to maintain a simple life with his family and colleagues, the main protagonist attempts to understand the condition that has befallen him, while fighting to preventing his new, insatiable appetite from turning him into a ravenous creature of the night.
Given that Vampyr sold well and received solid reviews, it's safe to assume that both Dontnod and Focus Home Entertainment will surely look to release another Vampyr game. However, nothing is officially confirmed at the moment but before the publisher announce that the work on the sequel is well underway.
