Folks at Ubisoft have postponed Beyond Good & Evil Fest to 2019 but they will still be showing some gameplay footage of Beyond Good & Evil 2 on 10 December 2018. The info is coming from Guillaume Brunier, senior producer on the project.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is probably the most ambitious upcoming sci-fi title, apart from Star Citizen which may or may not release at some point in this century. Many players have been waiting to see some gameplay and Ubisoft partially indulged them with in-engine back in 2017.

Guillaume Brunier  to everyeye, an Italian gaming site, that even though BGEFest has been postponed to 2019 in order to prepare properly in Montpellier, Ubisoft are set to show more gameplay footage on 10 December 2018.

Apparently this was also postponed even though the date is not so far anymore, but the original plan was to have a gameplay livestream in November 2018. This is definitely a good sign, since info on Beyond Good & Evil 2 proved to be scarce, hinting the game's release date is still years away.

Many fans have shown cautious optimism due to Beyond Good & Evil 2 being an extremely ambitious project, but it remains to be seen whether Ubisoft will meet the expectations. Since there is still no release date, it is unknown whether the game will come before the next generation of consoles.

Should Ubisoft choose to wait until the next iteration of PlayStation and Xbox, they could avoid hardware constraints that would be otherwise imposed. The recent increase in companies' interest to fully support keyboard and mouse input on their consoles could prove even more benefits and potentially enlarge the scale of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

There is barely any doubt that the game will launch with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in mind though, meaning we could potentially even see downgrades in the end. It is Ubisoft, after all, so it wouldn't be anything unexpected.
