After a long wait, Assassin's Creed: Mirage is officially out now across all platforms including PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Just like every other title that releases these days, Assassin's Creed: Mirage also comes with a day-one patch which brings various improvements and bug fixes to the game so players can have optimal experience when they start their adventure with Basim.
However, the patch has also introduced an unpopular anti-tamper system Denuvo, which is known to impact the performance in certain games. Some would say that adding Denuvo with a day-one patch after the reviews were published is a very shady move by Ubisoft but we don't really know if the implementation has any significant impact on the performance or CPU load.
Denuvo's impact on the in-game performance has been a hot topic since this anti-tamper system was first introduced. Some testers revealed that games that removed Denuvo after a while have seen better performance.
However, truth be told, the implementation of Denuvo rarely makes the games unplayable. Non-Denuvo versions of games will get a minor boost in FPS and potentially less CPU load but that's about it.
All in all, it remains to be seen if players report stuttering, lower-than-expected FPS and high CPU load, which could be the result of Denuvo implementation.
We certainly hope Ubisoft did a good job so players will get to enjoy Assassin's Creed's return to the roots with super smooth performance.
