First released this past October 2023, Assassin's Creed Mirage finally comes to the Steam Store later this month. While currently out now on Xbox, PlayStation, PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, and even iOS, it has not come to Steam as of yet.
Ubisoft confirmed it would arrive on Valve's platform before the end of October 2024, however - almost a year since it first launched.
Set in ninth-century Baghdad, the game follows Basim as his tales gradually take shape from a common thief to a skilled assassin serving the Hidden Ones. Unlike recent entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Mirage leans back on the core roots of the franchise, relying much more on stealth.
Also returning are old standbys: parkour across rooftops, melting into crowds to pass by unnoticed, and dispatching baddies by delivering the finishing move of the Hidden Blade.
While the city itself is significantly smaller compared to the gigantic open worlds of late, there are still four different districts each varying from one another.
Although fans were hyped to welcome Mirage during Steam, Ubisoft's titles on the store still require Ubisoft Connect to launch, which is a fact.
However, the opportunity to buy the game on Steam is one of the most appealing ways that many players will have soon enough.
But Ubisoft has also added that this means Assassin's Creed Mirage is the last one to be suffering from such a delayed release on Steam, as future Ubisoft games will hit Steam on day one of release. This includes future projects in the series, like Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Considering that already over five million players have dived into it, the launch on Steam should expand this number.
