Assassin's Creed Mirage is just around the corner and one thing that is particularly exciting about this new action adventure from Ubisoft is its scope and the iconic setting. Ubisoft were pretty adamant that Mirage will be a smaller experience, unlike Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Odyssey.
Players who wanted a more focused Assassin's Creed experience and return to what made the series great will also appreciate that the devs reworked stealth tools and put more effort into creating a meaningful parkour.
That's where the game's setting comes in. The map of Assassin's Creed will also be much smaller but densely packed with NPCs and plenty of roofs and small streets that emphasize parkour. In this article, we'll take a look at Mirage's setting, map and regions so read on below if you want to learn more about that.
Assassin's Creed Mirage city
Assassin's Creed Mirage will be set in 9th-century Baghdad. During the 9th and 10th centuries, Bagdad was the centre of the Islamic Caliphate and one of the greatest cities worldwide. In addition to the city, Assassin's Creed Mirage will also feature the surrounding areas, outside of the city walls.
The entire playable area will be similar in size to Assassin's Creed Revelations, which is certainly good news for those who want a smaller, more focused Assassin's Creed experience.
So far, this is the only confirmed city in the game.

Here are some of the locations that have been confirmed so far:
- Baghdad / Madīnat as-Salām
- Abbasiyah, Harbiyah and Karkh districts
- Dur-Kurigalzu
- Al-Anbar
- Jariariyah
- Alamut
It's certainly possible that Ubisoft add more locations to the game in post-launch DLC, though, such releases are yet to be officially confirmed.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is officially launching on October 5, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
