Following the Gamescom presentation, Obsidian Entertainment have released an 11-minute long extended look at The Outer Worlds' upcoming Peril on Gorgon expansion.
Peril on Gorgon is the first of two narrative expansions for The Outer Worlds, and the extended look focuses on a sidequest called Love Is The Plan, The Plan Is Death.
"The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon adds a substantial amount of content to the game’s darkly humorous universe with a brand new noir-tinged adventure that takes players to the Gorgon Asteroid to investigate the mysterious origin of Adrena-Time", Obsidian wrote.
The trailer gives a first look at the Gorgon Asteroid, which is clearly the backdrop for The Outer Worlds' new expansion. You could say it's also a centrepiece, as players will be tasked with figuring out what exactly left the place in such terrible shape.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon received its own music theme to further set it apart from the rest of the in-game locations.
As you'd expect, players also get to meet a couple of new characters, some of which are in the trailer, as well as new weapons. You can check out the PET at around 5:49, and we'd love to say we can describe it better than the narrator but tough luck. It's a science weapon. And it looks like it hurts. A lot. That's all we got.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon launches on September 9, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, where Game Pass users actually get a 10 per cent discount on the DLC.
Note that the DLC will also be available as part of The Outer Worlds Expansion Pass, which launches on the same date and includes Murder on Eridanos expansion too.
