The Division 2 developers Massive Entertainment have detailed the upcoming PvP changes and the brand new mode named Team Demolition. These will arrive in the Title Update 6 along with a ton of other tweaks.
Traditionally, The Division 2's Title Updates always bring a ton of new content, improvements and changes. Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have another one in the pipeline and this time, the update will focus on improving the PvP experience in the Dark Zone and other modes.
The devs detailed these improvements in their latest blog post and if you want to experience them for yourself, the update is live on the test server since Monday, 16 September 2019, with Loot Targeting and PvP changes. However, if you're waiting for the official patch, here's the breakdown of the most notable changes in Title Update 6:
- Massive are taking steps to ensure the Dark Zones are populated with 12 players as often as possible, to make them feel more alive.
- Players may now be ambushed by the Black Tusk during extraction from the Dark Zones.
- Conflict matches will always reward players, win or lose, although winners will get more.
- A new PVP mode, Team Elimination, will be playable soon on the PTS.
As you can see, Massive and Ubisoft are introducing some changes to the way Dark Zone servers fill up. The blog post states that when entering a Checkpoint, the server will now check for an ideal server for the player so they join a Dark Zone instance that has a high population.
Also, if you're already on a server where not many players are playing, you will be transferred to a more active Dark Zone. According to Massive, the system is pretty fluid and players won't notice any differences when entering the Dark Zone.
On top of this, changes are coming to how Normalization works. In the endgame, players' attributes are no longer normalized and players will now have to focus on perfecting their build in PvP to have an advantage over others.
Players below Gear Score 500 will still have their attributes boosted to the max level to allow for easier entry into PvP while Talents will still have a PvE and PvP versions. Massive say that with PvP changes in Title Update 6, they expect to see a lot of new builds that can compete in the end game.
