Ubisoft rolled out the latest update to The Division 2, which adds two new main missions, the expeditions feature, two classified assignments, the Shepherd reward system, new exotics, few new weapons, bug fixes and some rebalancing.
So, the two new main missions are Manning National Zoo and Camp White Oak, where the first one sets The Division 2 players on a hunt for the leader of the Outcasts Emeline Shaw. She's barricaded herself in the titular Zoo and it's your job to, ahem, unbarricade her.
The Camp White Oak mission is about the Black Tusks and their leader, who have taken a strategic position in the woodlands. You know what to do.
Expeditions are The Division 2's new feature that takes players around D.C. to "discover new narrative and gameplay opportunities". Ubisoft promises that what you will find are challenges and lore that's unique for the locales, with "new collectibles, treasure rooms, environmental puzzles, unique boss mechanics, and more".
There are two new classified assignments - Central Aquarium and NSA Site B13, although you should know that these are exclusive to The Division 2's Year 1 pass owners.
Ubisoft added the Shepherd Reward System - Call for Backup, which lets you earn the title of Shepherd by responding to backup requests and earning endorsements, i.e. being good guy Greg. Those who receive help can endorse their helpers, and you can learn more on specifics in the feature's announcement .
As for The Division 2's new exotics, first up is the Diamondback exotic lever-action rifle, which sports a 5 round magazine, 100 RPM fire rate and two talents.
Agonizing Bite randomly marks enemies and should you hit them, you're guaranteed a critical hit with +20 per cent damage. Deep Fangs activate when you hit 5 marked enemies, granting you +50 per cent reload speed, +20 per cent total damage and 10 seconds of critical hits.
Diamondbacks also come with Shedding Skin, which grants +20 per cent bonus armour for 3s when loading a round while drawn, whereas when holstered, reloading or cycling current weapon grants 8 per cent bonus for 2 seconds.
The Division 2's second new exotic are BTSU gloves, which sport Elemental Gadgetry, which lengthens status-applying skills by 50 per cent in status effect duration and just as much in skill haste.
BTSU gloves' Energy Infusion activates whenever you apply a status effect, granting +10 per cent skill damage, skill healing and repair, and skill duration for each utility on your gear.
Charged proxies allow for explosive skill-throwing, which takes 1.25 seconds to explode and infuse status effect to nearby enemies, making them 50 per cent more susceptible to your skills.
The Division 2's new weapons are the Carbine 7 assault rifle, a 790 RPM gun with a 30 round mag, which increases your magazine capacity by 100 per cent every 3 reloads, and the Stoner LMG, a 580 RPM weapon with 200 mag capacity.
The latter's talent is Overwhelm, which gives you +5 per cent weapon damage for suppressing unsuppressed enemies.
Ubisoft wrote that they took a long, hard look at The Division 2's current meta and found that skill builds have been far from competitive.
"We looked at each skill and what it should be good at (burst, sustain, single target damage, survivability etc) and went to work tuning the mods to make a skill build approach the efficiency of a "red" damage build or a "blue" tank build", they said.
The changes to Haste, which was formerly Cooldown Reduction, are as follows:
- Removed the 90% Cooldown Reduction hard cap
- Lowered the minimum Cooldown cap for all skills from 10 seconds to 3, except for the Chem Launcher which is now 8
- Renamed all instances of Cooldown Reduction on existing gear to Skill Haste, with a 50% increase to their base values
- Eg: +10% Cooldown Reduction will become +15% Skill Haste
- Increased Surge talent Skill Haste bonus from +10% to +20%
- Increased Alps Summit Armament 1-piece Skill Haste bonus from +10% to +20%
- Increased China Light Industries Corporation 3-piece Skill Haste bonus from +10% to +30%
- Increased Petrov Defense Group 3-piece Skill Haste bonus from +10% to +30%
- Increased Tip of the Spear 3-piece Skill Haste bonus from +20% to +40%
