Summer Games Done Quick 2019 will be returning to Bloomington, Minneapolis and the organisers have revealed the full list of featured games. Speedrunners will show their craft off in games ranging from classics, over remasters to new ones.
Summer Games Done Quick 2019 will happen in the last week of June 2019, ensuring the summertime hype is reinforced with post E3 impressions. The organisers have already revealed the venue, which is once again DoubleTree Hilton hotel and now they have revealed the full list of games.
Some classics that GDQ events simply can't do without will include Contra, Castlevania, Metroid and Streets of Rage. Considering these four entries are just a droplet in a full bucket, fans of the pixelated classics will have plenty to feast their eyes upon. Sadly, there are no entries that mention any Battletoads games.
Meanwhile, shooter fans will have a real treat with a Titanfall 2 speedrun by Bryonato, who will apparently beat the game in just 1:32:00. On the other hand, Borderlands 2 speedrun by TheFuncannon, Shockwve and Amyrlinn is set on a 3:00:00 timer which may be a long run compared to the other events during SGDQ 2019 but it is definitely much shorter than the tens of hours us regular plays go through.
Crash Bandicoot is a classic PlayStation series but it will technically not be featured itself. Instead, we will have a section of the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy relaunch where Murcaz, JHobs and CameronVengenz will be looking to beat Crash Bandicoot: Warped in less than 52 minutes.
Us casuals who failed to git gud will have the chance to drool as catalystz runs through all of the Dark Souls bosses with a timer set for 1:35:00 and Distortion too does the same thing with Dark Souls 2 but with timer set to 2:35:00. While the latter's run looks a lot longer, it will also be more challenging as it will include all of the DLC bosses as well.
