Epic Games Store and GOG already opened up their Summer Sales but many were waiting for Steam, which is now fairly close since it's coming next week.
Gaben's sales are there to provide some of the best deals in gaming which often results in more purchases than one originally intended, hence the scared wallet memes. They also provide joy to gaming enthusiasts who were waiting for deals in order to afford some of the games they are looking forward to playing, making it another good reason to be hyped for the start of the sale.
Well, according to SteamDB , the day is near as Steam Summer Sale 2021 is scheduled to start in just over five days, on June 24, 2021. There is currently no info on what deals to expect but considering that this is one of the biggest gaming sales of the year, it's safe to assume the vast majority of the games on Steam will be discounted heavily.
When it comes to newer releases, those usually go for 25 to 30 per cent off. One of the biggest talking points in gaming of late 2020 and 2021 so far has been Cyberpunk 2077, which is still in the process of getting fixed, is currently 33 per cent off on GOG so it's possible Steam Summer Sale will have the same discount if you were waiting to add it to your library there.
