Love 'em or hate 'em, one thing's for certain - Insomniac Games really know how to spin a running joke, as the latest update to Spider-Man adds the long-awaited New Game Plus mode as well as cartoony puddle stickers to the photo mode.
Insomniac Games already announced Spider-Man's New Game Plus mode and then mysteriously on the promise, which judging by the pretty quick follow up weren't particularly difficult issues. Nevertheless, Insomniacs are obviously not the ones to disappoint and the mode is up and running.
Spider-Man fans are obviously delighted by the addition and if the number of Reddit posts is any measurement, we won't be seeing the Spider-Mania subside anytime soon. Moreover, Insomniac Games went out of their way to tweak little details like skipping Otto giving the blueprints or Jefferson's taser, since you obviously have all your gear, which is a really nice touch.
The developer also made sure to milk the so-called for all it's worth and judging by the response of Spider-Man fans, it's worth quite a lot. After all, the puddle-centric discussion of whether the game was downgraded or not has lasted quite a while and more than one Insomniac was forced to reiterate the company's stance.
The new Spider-Man update now brings a cartoony version of puddles, which you can place in the game's photo mode wherever and whenever you'd like. In fact, the cover photo of this piece was made by Insomniac's UI designer Gil Doron, who said, "And I fixed this for you".
Of course, puddles are not all, since they're just a part of the photo mode improvements, which include stickers, frames and sticker rotation. Spider-Man players can now access photo mode with the d-pad too.

The update is also a convenient reminder that the first chapter of Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps DLC dubbed The Heist kicks off on 23 October 2018, which is in three days. It will be followed by Turf Wars in November and the conclusion called Silver Lining in December 2018.
