We're not sure whether Sony got the memo that Fortnite's Season 3 has been delayed, because a PlayStation background and icon for the game practically revealed the S3 theme.
Epic Games extended Season 2 by a week, meaning the Season 3 has been pushed back as well. At the moment, the date is set for Thursday, June 11, 2020, with The Device live event also being pushed back to Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, Sony seem to have stuck to the old schedule and unwittingly leaked the general theme of Fortnite's new season.
The leak is basically the game's icon and thanks to an effort by Reddit user RyanStoffelen, you can check it out in a reasonable resolution. You can get the 4K version on the original post , if you want to use it as a background or something.
As you can see for yourself, Fortnite's Chapter 2: Season 3 is clearly all about water and while the fans expected Epic to flood parts of the map, the dev's foresight goes much deeper.
Fortnite fans may recall Epic's animated short from June 2019 called Desert Island Flare - Fortnite Block Party Short, which at the time seemed like a goofy skit, but now seems prophetic.
Moreover, and brace yourselves because we're almost in conspiracy theory territory now, fans spotted a number on the trailer crate that says 11/06. That would, of course, mean that Epic also predicted that Fortnite's Season 3 will be delayed twice, which is pretty unlikely but the number is there at 0:15.
Coincidence or not, the resemblance between the short and Fortnite's Chapter 2: Season 3 icon is uncanny. Given the ongoing protests in the US, we wouldn't be surprised if Season 3 was delayed again, but we'll know soon enough.
Thanks, Eurogamer .
