Rebellion announced that Sniper Elite V2 Remastered will be released on 14 May 2019 and the Steam store page now offers the updated PC requirements. It also raised some concerns among the PC players due to graphics not being much better.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered will launch simultaneously for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It will not be a free upgrade for the game owners on PC even though the graphics update was the least noticeable on this platform.
The trailer above shows the original graphics versus the new ones with remarkable upgrades but it didn't state which platform the "original" footage was taken on.
It is highly likely the footage came from last gen consoles, either Xbox 360 or PS3 since the PC version already looks like the remastered one on consoles. Don't just take our word for it, you can compare the screenshots on Steam pages for Sniper Elite V2 and Sniper Elite V2 Remastered .
Anyway, the $9.99 / €9.99 / £6.99 price for the upgrade could prove beneficial for those who had the original game but not the DLC for it, as Sniper Elite V2 Remastered comes with all of the DLC in one convenient package.
As far as the PC system requirements go, they are significantly higher than those for the original game but are not alert worthy. For example, the total size of the game didn't grow too much, which would be expected due to the new textures.
The original game required 10 GB of free space, while the remaster requires 15 GB. AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or Intel i7 3770 will suffice for the recommended requirements, while the GPU requirement might be a little more costly. Either a GTX 1070 or and AMD RX 570 will be needed.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered's minimum requirements are much lower though and the necessary components would likely cost less than a current gen console, in total. You can check them on the Steam store page linked above.
