Sea of Thieves' free update named Ships of Fortune is set to launch on 22 April 2020 for all players across PC and Xbox One. The update brings several new additions such as Arena 2.0, crew reviving, Emissary system and most importantly, Cats.
Another month, another free update for Sea of Thieves. Named Ships of Fortune, the update is set to release later this month, on 22 April 2020 and will introduce a fresh batch of content for all players.
The Ships of Fortune brings new PvP Trading Company named The Reaper's Bones, the rewarding but also risky Emissary system, an increased reputation cap for Trading Companies, crew reviving, overhauled Arena and most importantly, Cats.
You can now purchase Wildcats, Ragamuffins and Maus from the market. These cute little furry fellas will follow you on your adventure across the sea. And of course, you'll get to pet them as much as you want.
As for other, less-important content, you can now sign up to become an Emissary and work on behalf of the Trading Companies. This way, you will earn exclusive cosmetics as you rank though new reputation system. You are free to join any of the existing trading companies as well as the brand new company Reaper's Bones.
On top of this, Sea of Thieves' competitive mode The Arena received a major overhaul to make the matches even more tense. The old treasure maps have been replaced by a single chest marked by a large beacon. Once you pick up the chest, the beacon will mark your ship so you'll have to battle your way to the cash in location. Matches will also last 15 instead of 24 minutes from now on.
The update also brings new emotes and other cosmetic items and you can learn more about it in the video above.
