Riot Games is always testing out new flavors of League of Legends, and this is one they recently announced. The studio just shared a new game mode called “ARAM Mayhem,” which Riot describes as “ARAM meets Arena” in the most exciting way possible.
The upcoming mode was teased and revealed in the studio’s latest developer update video, “ARAM Mayhem, Smurfing & More,” where Riot announced that ARAM Mayhem will be coming to the game with Patch 25.21 on October 22, 2025.
In its description, ARAM Mayhem is a ARAM-based experience enhanced with augments, similar to how Arena matches work.
As such, players can expect to jump into Howling Abyss and receive wild augments that change up how each round can play out. Riot also confirmed that they are working on entirely new augments for the mode, and that some of these new augments can affect multiple players on the team.
This one will definitely lead to some funny and wild team interactions. This also doesn’t mean that Riot is going away from traditional ARAM entirely.
Riot assured players that ARAM will remain available to play as long as ARAM Mayhem is active, so players will be able to play regular ARAM games if they so choose.
However, if players are interested in the experimental mode, Riot’s next experimental game type is dropping for ARAM Mayhem later this month, so check back soon.
