Riot Games has just dropped League of Legends Patch 25.20, the official Worlds patch. Every year around this time, Riot will balance the game for the Worlds Championship by adjusting some items and champions.
These Worlds patches usually do not have many game-changing buffs and nerfs but are instead a smaller patch aimed to properly balance the current meta and provide a stable competitive environment for the Worlds 2025 Champion.
Although a lot of the large changes were made earlier this season in Worlds qualifying, there are a few targeted buffs and nerfs to champion-specific kits. These changes should level the playing field of the current meta and potentially give underutilized champions a small advantage to the meta on the Worlds stage.
In addition to the balance changes that were announced, the Flora Fatalis skin line has also been announced. This cosmetic line will give players brand new skins for Lissandra, Fiddlesticks, and Soraka. Patch 25.20 will drop early for Worlds 2025, setting the scene for both professional and solo queue game modes.
League of Legends Patch 25.20 Release Date
League of Legends Patch 25.20 will be released on Wednesday, 08 October 2025. This is in line with how all updates are released. This will also be followed by scheduled server downtime:
- North America (NA): 3:00 AM PT
- Europe West (EUW): 5:00 AM UK time
- Europe Nordic & East (EUNE): 3:00 AM CET
The dev team wants the League of Legends community to start adjusting to the 25.20 meta ahead of Worlds 2025. The international tournament is set to begin on Saturday, 14 October 2025.
Champion Buffs in Patch 25.20
Champions who received significant buffs include several that currently sit below the pros’ pick-ban tier threshold. These will see the buffs to scaling and base stats to help bridge the gap to the pro play.
- Anivia
- Fizz
- Katarina
- Malphite
- Pantheon
- Veigar
Malphite’s enhanced base health and AD ratios should result in him having a larger impact in team fight engagements that rely on proper coordination.
Champion Nerfs in Patch 25.20
Junglers are getting the brunt of the damage, as Riot is honing in on several Junglers that have dominated the roams in both solo queue and in the pro play.
These champs are raw-stat checks, and this should result in a more toning down of these champs’ immense power.

- Orianna
- Volibear
- Warwick
- Wukong
These nerfs should help the jungle to see a wider variety of picks while also opening up the possibility for other meta contenders to rise up.
Champion Adjustments in Patch 25.20
The following is a list of champs who received a mix of buffs and nerfs in order to better balance the champions kit.
They all received at least one significant nerf or buff.
- Azir
- Camille
- Graves
Azir, Camille, and Graves have all had inconsistent performances in both solo queue and at the high level. These adjustments should help improve their consistency.
New Skins in Patch 25.20
The stand-out addition in the new skins is the Flora Fatalis skin line. The themed cosmetics add dark botanical skins to a trio of champions in the game.

- Flora Fatalis Fiddlesticks
- Flora Fatalis Soraka
The three skins are all available for purchase in the store at launch. They sport unique animations and effects based on creeping, deadly flora.
