The Witcher 4 Game Director Sebastian Kalemba reveals players will be able to save young girl Mioni, who suffers a tragic death in the reveal trailer.

The Witcher 4 reveal trailer which you've probably seen a dozen times by now was based on the actual quest in the game, The Witcher 4 Game Director Sebastian Kalemba explained in the official breakdown video here.

Kalemba revealed that the village shown in the trailer is called "Stromford", a totally isolated place in the northern part of the world. The young woman that is being sacrificed to the monster is called Mioni and according to Kalemba, players will be able to save her in their playthrough, avoiding the death outcome that happens in the trailer.

"As you know in our games, there are choices and consequences, there is going to be a way to save her," he said, confirming that the girl can be saved.

The Game Director explained that with different outcomes and especially those positive ones, the developers wanted to make players feel hope in the dark and grim world of The Witcher 4.

Examples like these are found everywhere in CD Projekt Red's previous games and for the fans of the studio it's certainly great to see that CD Projekt Red are sticking to what they do best.

Regarding the actual quest, if I had to guess, I'd say that there will be some dialogue choices in the village or perhaps even in the woods when Ciri is talking to Mioni, that can impact the quest and result in different outcomes.

It will be interesting to see if this quest is part of one larger questline or just a small side quest that players can discover by exploring the world. I don't know why but it's giving me strong Ladies of the Woods vibes and we all know just how big that one is.

The Witcher 4 does not have a release date at the moment but I bet we'll see it sometime in late 2026 / 2027. The game is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
