According to PUBG Corp. the Black Zone feature, which was introduced with the new Karakin map could arrive to older maps - Miramar, Sanhok and Erangel.
Recently, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Season 6 update added a brand new map named Karakin . It is a 2x2 km island with an arid, rocky environment that supports up to 64 players and it comes with a neat feature named Black Zone.
For those who are not familiar with the new mechanic, Black Zone is designed to push players out of the safety of a building and can obliterate everything in its path. The new feature is exclusively available on the new Karakin map but according to the developers, it could arrive to other, older maps such as Miramar, Sanhok and Erangel, pretty soon.
Eurogamer recently spoke to Dave Curd, PUBG Madison studio boss. Curd confirmed that if the players want the new feature in other maps, the studio will most definitely look into it. "It all depends on the community," Curd said. "We're a game for fans, and if they don't like features we're not going to put it in. So I'm really curious to see if people are like, we want this in every map, or it's more of an interesting experiment."
Curd also said that it is been a pleasure to see all the clips over at Reddit and social media of players running through the Black Zone and freaking out. To us, it seems that PUBG devs are open to the idea but it will probably take a while before we get an official announcement.
This also depends on the popularity of the Black Zone. The community seems to like it at the moment, so it is possible that we see the Black Zone on other maps in the near future after all.
