Pokemon GO AR photo contest on Instagram is now live

Niantic is holding a Pokemon GO AR Photo Contest. You can enter using photos taken in Pokemon GO. The contest will end on 25 October.

Niantic announced the Pokemon Go AR Photo Contest. This photo contest is being held on Instagram and you enter using photos taken in Pokemon Go. Duh.

From today until 25 October, players can post Pokemon Go AR photos on Instagram using the hashtag #PokemonGocontest to participate. The top 10 submissions will receive a Pokemon Go Prize Pack containing a Pokemon Go Plus, a poster autographed by the Pokemon Go team, and wireless Bluetooth earbuds. The photos will be judged based on originality(33.34%), creativity (33.33%), and visual fun (33.33%). Fun. Yaay.

Around 25 October, 2017, potential winners will be notified via Instagram direct message or via an Instagram reply comment to their entry post. If a potential winner does not respond to the notification attempt within 48 hours, they will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be selected.

Residents of countries where Pokemon Go has not been officially released as of October 11, 2017, and residents of the following regions are excluded from participation; the Balkans, Belarus, Brazil, Burma, China, Ivory Coast, Crimea, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Liberia, North Korea, Pakistan, Quebec, Russia, Spain, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, and Zimbabwe.

Photos where an individual appears in or is identifiable in the photo will not be considered and will be deemed void. Each entrant may submit up to three different photos on a single Instagram account. Entries are void if they are in whole or part incomplete (e.g. do not contain the required hashtags), altered, counterfeit, obtained through fraud, or late.

An entry must be the original work of the entrant, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity (with the exception of Pokemon Go characters and content, which will be permitted, of course).
