Xbox fans rejoice. After a long, long wait, Microsoft are finally rolling out a new Xbox home screen today, with some major changes that have been requested by the community. You'll notice straight away that the home screen now features smaller game tiles, which allows a lot more space for your wallpaper.
This has been one of the most requested changes from the Xbox users, who complained that all those sweet wallpapers that Xbox releases from time to time, don't make any sense since they end up being behind those large tiles and ads.
Luckily, that particular "issue" has been improved with the new update, which also introduces more new features, allowing for better customization of the home screen and more. Below, you'll find the list of all major changes that are available in this update for all Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Here are seven major Xbox dashboard changes
- Makes it easy to go to your Library, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass, Search, and Settings at the very top of your Home by introducing a quick access menu.
- Creates more space for your personalized background by simplifying the layout and putting the games you recently played and other content and apps towards the bottom of the screen.
- Adds an option to change your background to match the game you are highlighting in the recently played list.
- Improves game discovery by introducing lists of games curated and personalized for you.
- Allows you to customize your experience by pinning your favourite games, curated groups, and system groups like Quick Resume to Home.
- Helps you find what’s going on in your community through the updated Friends & Community Updates row.
- Shows you what media apps and content are available to you via a Watch and Listen spotlight and list of entertainment apps.
How to get the new Xbox dashboard?
The new Xbox dashboard is currently rolling out to all Xbox consoles but some players will get it before others. This means you may need to wait a couple of days or a week to get your update. Microsoft have reiterated that it's only a matter of time before everyone gets the new home screen experience.
