New World Influence revamp may not be all that fans hoped for

New World PvP enthusiasts may be happy to see the old Influence system go but the new one may not be perfect either.

Wars are one of the main attractions for the PvP players in New World as not only does the winner get ownership of a territory but it can end up being a ton of fun.

However, to get there, a company needs to do PvP quests for several hours and then hope RNG picks them instead of some other company that can challenge the territory holders.

This will change with Rise of the Angry Earth according to Amazon Game Studios but the new solution may not end up being that exciting either.

The new Influence system will apparently encourage open-world PvP in a way PvP quests could not and will also focus players into smaller zones in order to force the battles. Additionally, the new system will not cause the defenders to end up without a war on their hands.

One of the additions will be the Towers, which are a bit like mini forts, aimed at providing musket and bow users an advantage, as long as a few bruisers don't climb up.

These Towers can be captured during set time windows, at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 PM server time, in order to gain influence. The company that wins the Tower capture race will get to challenge the territory holders to a war.

As such, multiple companies will be encouraged to enter the race as they will all be rewarded with caches and other rewards, including PvP reward track progress.

This looks like a great solution to the RNG and low rewards for Influence farming in the current system but some players have already found issues with the revamped system, even before it got released on live servers.

For example, some still find the rewards lacklustre and Towers not exciting while the companies have no proper way of tracking their influence progress.
