American streaming giant Netflix have announced Sonic Prime, a brand new 3D animated series, that will be coming to the streaming service sometime next year.
Netflix and Sega have partnered up for a brand new project. Officially announced today by the American streaming giant, Sonic Prime is a brand new series that will be coming to the streaming service soon. In a tiny teaser over on Twitter, Netflix confirmed just a couple of details about the series, so the info is still pretty scarce.
The company stated that Sonic Prime will be a new 3D animated series, exclusive for the streaming service. As for the release date, there is nothing specific but the series should be coming sometime in 2022, if everything goes according to plan.
Sonic Prime will be made by several studios including Sega, WildBrain Studios and Man of Action Entertainment. WildBrain worked on hits like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and LEGO Ninjago while you may know Man of Action Entertainment as the creators of cartoons like Ben 10 and Generator Rex. A quite respectable crew to be honest. Hopefully Sonic and the gang are in good hands.
As for additional details about the series, we really do not know much. Netflix confirmed Sonic the Hedgehog will star in the series, which is expected, but other than that, the details about the plot and the setting are still under the veil of mystery. Hopefully, we'll learn more about Sonic Prime as we get closer to the release date.
