Necromunda: Hired Gun recently let us see more of the game's world and now it's showing off gameplay, progression and loot systems with the latest trailer.
Cyber-mastiff sounds pretty amazing and while it will be a large part of your adventures in the crime-ridden underhive, it seems like the dog is not a persistent companion that follows you around.
Instead, you will be using a chew toy to get to doggo to attack your enemies. In the trailer below, you can see the bounty hunter pulling out a rat that serves as a squeaky toy apparently, after which the mastiff jumps out and wreaks havoc on the player's adversaries.
Furthermore, the dog will also be more like an ability since it will have a cooldown before you can call it in again. You can see near the end of the trailer that the player has the option to upgrade the dog and reduce the summoning cooldown.
It also appears that the mastiff starts out as a regular dog with no implants and the appearance will change as you add more combat upgrades, which are separated in three sections - Bionic head, Bionic body and Bionic paws.
Considering the names are a dead giveaway, you will probably know which part of the dog will become mechanical if you invest in the modifications.
That said, the trailer showcases much more, including some of the mods for the bounty hunter themselves, such as double jump, wall-running and wall jumping.
