The game was developed by a studio founded by a former director and writer of Grand Theft Auto. The gameplay will emphasize strategic decision-making, cover-based tactics and intense firefights.

The team at Build A Rocket Boy has confirmed that MindsEye, originally planned to be a demonstration of the creative platform Everywhere, is to be a stand-alone game that is to be released this summer.

Two years ago, a studio created by a former director and writer of Grand Theft Auto released both Everywhere and MindsEye. Everywhere was planned to be a place for user-generated content, while MindsEye was a proof of concept of what was possible in it initially.

The developers, however, have chosen to release MindsEye independently as a game separate from Everywhere. MindsEye is a third-person action-adventure that sees Jacob Diaz, a war veteran tormented by disjointed recollections caused by a mysterious implant.

In his quest to learn more, he is launched into a high-octane, action-packed ride of intense firefights, high-speed vehicle chases, and explosive action on land and in the air.

The gameplay would be strategic in nature, encouraging players to take cover, use their surroundings to their favor, such as using conveniently placed red barrels, and think tactically.

The high speed car chases would be a part of the game, but it would not be open-world in nature. From the initial gameplay announcement, MindsEye does not revolutionize the genre but is a throwback to a day when shooters didn't load up on RPG mechanics or loot systems.

If it stays that course, it would be a return to that style of action gaming that many players have been clamoring for. MindsEye is set to launch this summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
