Highguard, Wildlight Entertainment's free-to-play PvP raid shooter, has experienced some turbulent times over the past couple weeks since its big showing at The Game Awards.
While it has been met with mixed reactions overall, the game is now live on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, allowing players to see what this hybrid tactical shooter/raid game has to offer.
Of course, with any live-service game, post-launch support will be critical to its longevity. To that end, Wildlight has published their content roadmap for Highguard all the way through 2026. The roadmap details seven Episodes that will release throughout the year, each consisting of two parts.
Seven Episodes Planned With Monthly Content Drops
Highguard’s launch basically serves as Episode 1. Episode 2 releases next month and is split into two parts. Part 1 of Episode 2 features another playable Warden, a new map, new mount, and Ranked Mode, providing players looking for a competitive edge with a progression-based experience all their own.
Part 2 of Episode 2 lands in March and will include another base as well as another raid tool.
Episode 3 hits in April and will also feature two parts. New content includes another Warden, weapon, and new mod system. Episode 3 Part 2 is a little light on descriptions
Limited-Time Modes and Unannounced Content Teased
Episode 4 is once again fairly predictable since June’s installment will also feature another character and weapon. Episode 4 Part 2, which releases in July, however, will feature a “limited-time game mode.”
While we don’t know anything specific about it, it’s safe to say Wildlight wants to try out new game types outside of PvP raids.Episodes 6 and 7 are noted as containing “surprises.”
While we have no clue what’s in store for these two episodes other than some new content, players are already throwing out guesses as to what’s to come.
