Resolution Games recently had an experienced industry veteran, Mike Booth, join its board of directors. He has quite a few achievements under his belt, with creating Left 4 Dead being the crown jewel among them.
Mike Booth has a rich career in the gaming industry, having been a part of companies such as Valve, Blizzard and EA in the past. The portfolio is not any less flattering when it comes to video games he worked on either.
Counter-Strike series up to Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2, C&C Generals and Red Alert 2 are some of the works Booth has under his belt. However, being the designer of Left 4 Dead is probably the biggest achievement among them, given the size of his role.
Therefore, it is not much of a surprise that Resolution Games are happy to welcome Booth into their board of directors. While he will be steering the teams working on VR titles Resolution are known for, there will also be a hands-on approach as a creative advisor, according to Tommy Palm, the CEO of the company.
Considering the titles mentioned above are no in the VR field, the news of Booth being the creative advisor to the teams might sound odd at first but keep in mind that the man's career also included working with Facebook on their own VR projects.
Booth stated that he is looking forward to working with the team in hopes of "moving beyond the studio's usual genres to really push the boundaries of what can be done in games".
