Microsoft are supplementing their main conferences this year with smaller "What's Next" virtual events and the "What's Next for Gaming" Xbox event is expected in the upcoming weeks according to reports.

Microsoft and Xbox have been on fire recently with the announcement of day-one Game Pass additions such as MLB The Show 21 and Outriders and by the looks of it, they are set to continue bringing the heat with the upcoming "What's next for gaming" event, which focuses on Xbox Game Studios and their projects.

Of course, Xbox's biggest event of the year will be coming sometime around E3 2021 while the "What's next for gaming" event will serve as an appetizer for the major showcase.

And as we wait for the Summer and Xbox's big guns, the smaller event will be coming in the coming weeks according to the report from Microsoft expert Mary Foley.

"Microsoft is supplementing its main, larger conferences this year with smaller What's Next virtual events. A What's Next for Gaming event is expected in the coming weeks," it's written in the latest report.

As the report states, the event will be smaller in scale so don't expect to see major reveals, announcements and other juicy info, Microsoft and Xbox are saving that for later this year.

All in all, it's nice that we're getting another gaming showcase and hopefully, the event will bring some neat little updates for Game Pass and already announced titles.
