A job listing on Microsoft's official website has revealed that the company are looking to hire a Software Engineer for their Xbox Gaming AI team.
The listing states that the Xbox Gaming AI team is responsible for exploring new emerging technology trends to craft the next era of gaming.
The ideal candidate will be tasked to work on innovative features, tools, AI and machine learning for video games.
"The Xbox Gaming AI team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with experience in gaming and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to collaborate with and empower Xbox games, engines and platform teams to explore and create innovative new Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) based features, tools and services," the description states.
Additionally, Microsoft are looking for an engineer with experience and technical excellence in game development, game engines, assets pipeline and game testing. The person also needs to have at least two shipped AAA games.

With the help of AI tools, devs could generate full stories and dialogue lines for quests, which would certainly extend the game's life and provide more value to the player.
This is obviously just one of the examples of how AI can be used in video games. The devs can also utilise machine learning to improve the features and performance of video games, among other things.
All in all, it will certainly be interesting to see if Xbox provide more details on how they will be using AI in their upcoming games.
