According to the reputed Call of Duty leaker, theGhostofHope shared details on the release of the next Call of Duty title. In his recent tweet, Hope claimed that the next Call of Duty 2026 title is set to be the launch title for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox console.
Call of Duty has always been a title dominating the consoles since its inception, with many of its titles being bundled together with Xbox consoles in the past. With the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, it is unsurprising to see the game become a launch title for their upcoming console.
Call of Duty 2026 is reportedly a sequel to the original Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, with Sledgehammer Games in charge. The game will also be integrated into Call of Duty: Warzone 2 after launch.
With the next flagship console's launch, releasing a massive title like Call of Duty will definitely be a win for Microsoft, as it will definitely put them ahead in the next-gen console race.
The console game roster becomes heavier with AAA games making their way to next-gen consoles starting in 2025 with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, GTA 6, Battlefield, and Ghost Recon titles.
