After a long wait, the live-action Fallout TV series is finally coming to streaming service Amazon Prime early next year. Today, Amazon announced the April 12, 2024 date with a stunning classic Fallout pip-boy graphic.
It's still going to be a long wait as the release date is months away but at least we now have a solid date, which wasn't the case until today.
The Fallout TV series will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime. At this time, the show is yet to be announced for other platforms and we doubt it will arrive to services like Netflix or Disney Plus, at least not in the first couple of years after the release.
Walton Goggins (Invincible, Django Unchained, Hateful Eight), Ella Purnell (Army of the Dead) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, How I Met Your Father) have been cast for the series' leading roles.
Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan are the head writers while Bethesda's Todd Howard will be an executive producer so it's safe to say that the show is in good hands. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner were hired as the series' showrunners.
It's a high-budged project for Amazon and one of the most anticipated TV series of 2024 but whether it reaches the heights of The Wheel of Time, The Boys or other successful Amazon Prime Originals, it remains to be seen.
Hopefully, the release of the TV series also means we're getting some Fallout video game-related news. A next-gen update for Fallout 4 or a remaster of earlier Fallout games would certainly be amazing news if we can't get Fallout New Vegas 2 anytime soon.
