Prepare for a smooth movement experience in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Black Ops 6 with the new omnidirectional movement. Here's a brief overview of how Treyarch's new movement will work in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was finally revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase event. The sixth entry in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series is being developed by Treyarch. The game is set in a timeline following the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Out of all the studios developing Call of Duty titles, Treyarch is known for making bold decisions about new gameplay mechanics and they have kept their track record of doing so with the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. In the upcoming game, Treyarch has officially added a new omnidirectional movement mechanic.

Treyarch's New Omnidirectional movement explained

Omnidirectional movement is a unique movement system that allows players to move, sprint and jump in any direction without looking. Previous Call of Duty titles only allowed players to jump and run in forward direction. But with the new mechanic, they'll be able to make fluid movements without looking in a specific direction.

A close example of omnidirectional movement is Fortnite's movement mechanic, which was revamped with the Chapter 5 Season 1 update. The third person view of that movement mechanic will explain how the new movement will function in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Now moving on to the jumping aspect of the new movement mechanic. The closest example of omnidirectional jumping can be seen in the Max Payne series.

In Max Payne, players have the ability to jump in any direction without looking. So essentially, with the new mechanics, players will be able to make jumps in any direction without looking.

While the new movement might seem out of place in a Call of Duty title, players must remember the initial addition of sliding mechanic in Call of Duty. Since its inception, the sliding mechanic has become a crucial part of the movement meta of all Call of Duty titles.

After the new gameplay footage leaks from content creators at the Call of Duty; Next event, we were able to take a more in-depth look at the new omnidirectional movement. From our view, the new movement mechanic will raise the skill ceiling as its will introduce newer ways to take fights and movement throughout the map.

It's apparent that Treyarch's new movement mechanic will also become a unique part of the movement meta; however, it can also backfire if not implemented properly.
