Now it is official, Marvel's Avengers will cease development in a couple of months.
The leak was on-point as even the parts Miller Ross wasn't entirely sure about turned out to be more or less true.
Update 2.8, which is planned for March 31, 2023, will be the last one that will bring content or features for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Update 2.7 was the last one with content in it.
After that, the game will be on life support until September 30, 2023, at which point all updates will cease but both singleplayer and multiplayer modes will continue to be playable.
We mentioned singleplayer specifically as well because even if you don't do co-op with others, the game will remain always-online. Should the services go down, the game in this state would prevent you from playing it entirely.
All the premium currency will be converted to regular in-game currencies on March 31 and microtransactions will be disabled while the cosmetics one would buy with them will become free for everyone.
Digital purchases of the game will not be available after September 30.
